Let’s start with AMD site (ALL HAIL AMD!!...I’m a big fan.) After a few day of officially announcement for new technology in Intel mobile chip, (my) AMD did not stand still anymore. They released the roadmap for laptop platform with all new technology that is ‘Puma’ platform based on ‘Fusion’ architecture mobile CPU. They claimed that this platform will be released in 2008.

In detail, ‘Puma’ incorporates ‘Griffin’, the first mobile processor for AMD in processing core which well-known as Turion X2 family. This 65nm dual core processor connected to 1MB of L2 cache that means it has 2MB of L2 cache in total.

AMD has focused on improving northbridge chip. It comes up with latest and fastest transport method called HyperTransport 3 including bus-power management to speed up or down the clock according to the need. In memory controller part, AMD featured the pre-fetcher, it will foretell and grab ahead data that processing cores are going to want in the near future. This style of memory oriented is tweaked for laptop only it does not work with desktop or server.

The northbridge and processing cores are on independent voltage plane for efficient in power usage. For example, if a process wants to connect to main memory by northbridge without using processing cores, CPU cores can down themselves to 300MHz independently and quickly, more than Turion which can only down to 800MHz.

In my opinion, this processor will lighten the way of mobile CPU for AMD which is in darkness and very less marketing share.

Get back to Intel site, after I already introduced to you about Intel’s officially announcement. They said that they are the first chip developer who can bring 45nm CPU technology into mobile. It means after next month (January) we will see an updated Centrino chipset with 45nm Core 2 Duo processor in laptop. They also talked about ‘Intel HD Boost’ and ‘Deep Power Down’ that are included in new Centrino.

"This brings up new ways we can do 3D rendering, new ways that we can process all the calculations that go into making graphics so real that it becomes almost unbelievable, and new ways of processing all the video that's played on a notebook" Brian Tucker, an Intel mobile platform marketing manager said. It means with Intel HD Boost all 3D rendering, games playing and videos playing on laptop will be a brand new kind. (I think he felt a little excited)

On the other hand, Deep Power Down can save power and get longer time of battery life. When CPU is active both cores are fully active this will surely get high output of processing power. But when CPU is idle this system will let CPU reaches an extremely low power usage. Deep Power Down also has another name, ‘HUGI’, from Hurry Up and Get Idle.

Intel does not just active on general laptop processor but Intel plans to release a new chip platform for mobile-internet devices (MPCs) and ultra-mobile PCs (UMPCs).

Death Note the movie that very popular in this day. Nowadays, the live-action movie name Death Note that have two parted and released in 2006. This movie is directed by Shūsuke Kaneko. This movie is produced by Nippon Television. And this movie is distributed by Warner Bros. The third movie titled L change the WorLd have first time to show in February 2008, and the movie is focusing on L. Death Note rebuild from a Japanese manga series, it is created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and it is illustrator Takeshi Obata that have the one order around the world. It has more than 15 million copies. And the story has end in 13^th books. Death Note was first show in serialize in the Japanese manga magazine. It has the first issue in December 2003 to May 2006, with 108 chapters in total. The series has end in its entirety in 12 volumes. Death Note is the pair of live and action movie that show in Japan on June 17, 2006 and November 3, 2006. And animation cartoon will on air in Japan from October 3, 2006 to June 26, 2007. That have more popular Japanese star that show in this movie. For example, Tatsuya Fujiwara show in the angle and devil in one person from Battle Royale and Battle Yale II, Kenichi Matsuyama show in L from Bright Future and Nana, Asaka Seto, Yu Kashii. The female shinigami who give Death Note to Misa. And trade the Shinigami eyes to misa. Rem talk to Light, if misa die before the true time of her life. In the last Rem is died because of she try to help misa.

For this story begin with an intelligent young man name Light Yagami. He resents all the crime in the world. His life change in the year 2003, when he meet Death Note book in the way to go home, lying on

the ground. And it’s have some rule to use.The rule in Death Note is written by Ryuk in English language. First, The human whose name is written in this note shall die. Second, This note will not take effect unless the writer has the subject's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected. Third, If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the subject's name, it will happen. Next, If the cause of death is not specified, the subject will simply die of a heart attack. Finally, After writing the cause of death, the details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds (400 seconds). He think he want to change the world that have more crime and corruption by his hand. And want to be the God of the new world. He use Death Note to kill a lot of criminals. He receive the praise from another people, and knowledge in name Kira(The word Kira derived from "Killer" in the Japanese pronunciation). Soon, the number of criminals that to be kill by kira is increasing every day. So the member of International Police Organization or call in IPO and a secret detective known only as "L" quickly learns that the serial killer, dubbed by the public as "Kira" and want to stop him. Light think L will be a greatest obstacle for him, and a game of psychological cat and mouse between the two that having the quality of a genius is begins. L work hard to investigate about Kira. He can know Kira is student in senior high school, and have a relationship with police. Then L sent FBI to Japan for investigate about Kira. But all of FBI that have been sent have been killed. For this cause make L wonder in Light. But in the end of part 1 Light can join in L group of investigate. For nearly L and easy to kill him.

Death Note 2: The Last Name. In the begin of part 2, Light joins the group and work hard to searching for Kira in by himself and also, to get rid of L. Armane Misa popular idol in japan have been help from Kira. It make her respect and praise to Kira. She get the Death Note by accident. She join with Kira and try to help his work. She have a death God eyes. She can see name and one's allotted span by her eyes. She get this skill from her Shinigami(Death God) that have traded for the eye by half of her life. In the end of this part L can kill Kira by sacrifice himself.

A third movie titled L change the WorLd is show in February 2008. For this movie is focusing on L. This story about the 23 days before L die. After solve Kira case, another case that L must to solve and he has only 23 days to solve it before he die. A person that got the most dangerous weapon, "Death God" says the same thing as Kira "I will change the world. What will happen to L? Lcan solve this case or not? What will change? You can see it in theatre.

Introduction to the book

My name is Darren Shan. I am half human half vampire.
I was not born to be like this. I was once an ordinary boy. I lived with my parents and younger sister named Anny. I loved to go to school and I have many friends.I also loved to read horror books and films. When the “Cirque Du Freak” (The Freak Show) came to our town, my best friend, Steve Leopard, is able to find the ticket and we agreed to go together. It was a fantastic, scary and truly outlandish show.

But the most outrageous thing happened after the show. Steve happened to memorize one of the performers from an old picture book and knew that he was a vampire. Steve confronted vampire to make him become vampire. Mr. Crepsley who was that vampire almost did that; however he found out that Steve’s blood was an evil blood. This should be the end of this story.

Except, that I was peeping and found out that Steve want to be vampire . I don’t want to get involved with this story , still I loved spider for a long time, I was once have the spider too and Mr. Crepsley happened to have one poisonous spider which was the performer spider ,Madam Octa, she can play every wonderful trick. I stole her and leave the massage to the vampire , blackmail that I will told everybody about him.

After that Madam Octa accidently bite Steve and he may dies, so I have to go to see Mr. Crepsley, begging him for help. He agreed, but in return I have to be half human half vampire as his assistant and travel with him. We tricked my family that I was died after that we travel together. My happy day life end here and night life as half human half vampire start.

Get to know Darren shan (the real one)

Darren shan or his real name, “Darren O'Shaughnessy” is an Irish. He was born on July 2, 1972, in St Thomas' Hospital, London, England. He move to limerick in Ireland when he was six and he live there until now. He had dreamed to be novel writer from the beginning , he was 17 years old when he finished his first novel (Mute Pursuit which mix up between “The Termiantor” and “The Dark Tower” of Steven King). Even this novel have never been published, however he loved the experience from writing . So he focused more on his novel not just only short stories.

On the next few year , his work is for adult ,still he also have planed on children book. His first success was on his adult book , “Ayuamarca” it was a hard story that mix between “The Godfather” and “Night of The Living Dead” , which Orion publishing group brought it. But it did not sell very well . His next work “Hell’s Horizon ” was published in February 2000, even though this book was agreed to be better book that the first one . but its sold fewer than the his first book. In this situation should be the end of his career.

But between his first two book, in January 2000 , his first children’s book “Cirque Du Freak” , The first book of “The Saga of Darren Shan”,was published. Which was the best selling book and had been very interesting by the press especially when The Universal Studios brought his first three book before it was published. He finished twelve books of “The Saga of Darren Shan” in five years later. After the Saga , Shan start his new series “The Demonata ” with six books already published and four more on their way.

By 2007, Shan’s books were on sale all over the world (36 countries, and in 29 languages). His books was a children’s bestseller in the United States, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway and other country. Also his book was on top chart adult’s book bestsellers in Hungary, Japan, and Taiwan. His books have sold over 10 million copies worldwide.


Editor’s Comment

The author manage to get into every little detail and make everything worth reading. This story was not so fantasy, but still ,charming with imagination. Every character don’t have too much fancy ability for example , able to release gigantic fire ball or move fast like wind ,like other fantasy novel this is why , every character in this story look realistic and have live. This story have a scary background but this is book is not that creepy , In fact this story is about friendship, responsibility and sacrifice for main people. Each of the book have a thin size ,so it perfect to carry around and read. JK.Rowling the author of the famous “harry potter” pride these book as “the book that cannot stop reading” . Last but not least the author includes himself in this story by his pen name and that make the story have a very impressive ending. How? You have to read it yourselves.

Movie

The Universal Studios brought the first three books of the saga and Darren Shan to make one single movie. Brian Helgeland is writing the script. Paul Weitz (American Pie, About A Boy) has been hired to direct, and he has also re-written the script. Lauren Shuler Donner is producing it ( X-Men movies). John C Reilly will be playing the part of Larten Crepsley; Chris J Kelly will be Darren; Josh Hutcherson will be Steve. Filming is due to being in February 2008, in New Orleans in America. But still don’t have the release date . if the first movie is successful , The Universal Studios might want to make 4 movie. Each film combined each trilogy of the saga of Darren Shan book.

Why the Saga of Darren Shan isn’t so popular in Thailand

According to Google, if we search all over the world for Darren Shan,the results is about 687,000. However ,if we search only in Thailand for Darren Shan,the results is just only 5,060. We can see a very huge different in number.

First reason that Darren Shan isn’t so popular in Thailand compare to other country , even though the plot of this story is full of adventure, excitement and twist, The only and important weakness of this story is ” Love and Romantic “ which seem to appear very little in this story and that affect decision of the reader in Thailand, because the reader in Thailand mostly are women who is interest in love story. Second the appearance of the book looks very scary, And most of the readers in Thailand judge the book by its cover.

Review: AMD Phenom 9500 Processor

After a long time, our ship of waiting meets an end….A brand new processor, AMD Phenom and Spider platform come up with AMD 790 chipset and a pair of ATi Radeon HD 3870 graphic card. At this moment there would be only two Phenom those were released to the market, 9500 and 9600 but 9700 still in the test progress.

What AMD said about advantages over Core 2 Quad are true quad-core design so each core of processor is independent, 2MB of L3 cache, Cool’n’Quiet 2.0 technology, the fast HyperTransport 3.0 bus support for 1067MHz DD2 memory, etc.

The independent processor’s core sounds good but some comment said that it’s unnecessary in reality, it seems impossible to tell the different.

Phenom use an AM2+ socket which need an AM2+ motherboard for the benefit of HyperTransport 3.0 technology.

According to Reghardware.co.uk, they used Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe with AMD's 790FX chipset for testing and they also used Athlon 64 X2 6400+ on a Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H motherboard with AM2 socket. On the other hand they ran Core 2 Q6600 on an MSI Diamond X38 which help you compare to Intel’s side.

Longer are better.

From the graph above, you will see a predictable result that AM2+ processor will lose performance when AM2+ plug into AM2 socket.

AMD also create an overclocking utility named OverDrive. It allows you to tuning by user ten-levels slider, you will see the clock speed increase for every step you take. You can also overclock the PCI Express clock speed.

After overclocking the Phenom from 2.4GHz to 2460MHz, the memory to 1094 MHz, PCI Express bus to 120 MHz and raise HyperTransport 3.0 to 205 MHz, that can request the points from PCMark05 from 8183 to 8397
